Today on Prime Cuts TV we wanted to talk about properly decanting wine. Not too many people seem to do it but it can do so much for a bottle of wine. While there are many different types of decanters out there, today we focus on explaining the reasons behind decanting and demonstrate how to properly do it.
On today’s episode of Prime Cuts TV, Joe shows you how we make Sangria at Caminito. Sangria can be one of the best thirst-quenching alcoholic drinks you can have on a hot Summer day. At Caminito we add lots of great fruit to make the drink even more fun.
If you’re having trouble viewing the video, you can also watch it over on YouTube.
After a short break from filming, we’re back with brand new episodes of Prime Cuts TV. On today’s episode Joe shows you how to properly fluff rice. Though it seems like a simple cooking tip, it is one that is often done wrong. Not properly fluffing rice can lead to clumpy rice and seasonings/flavorings not being thoroughly mixed.
This week we just wanted to take a minute to say thank you. With your support, our restaurant, Caminito Argentinean Steakhouse, won three awards in the Best of Pioneer Valley awards that we asked for your help with a couple months ago. We won: 2nd place – Best Steakhouse, 2nd place – Wine List and 3rd place – Best Patio. These were the big 3 categories we were focused on placing in and we did it.
In the next couple days you will see a new section created for our contributors bio and contact info and you’ll start to see posts from them. If you missed Amber’s first post here, check out this simple recipe for Greek Hummus with Kalamata Olives.
We’re very excited about the growth of Prime Cuts and hope that you continue to learn and have fun as well. We promise that we will never compromise the quality of the information we provide you. We just want to be able to bring you more content and a more well-rounded place to come to have all of your food and cooking questions answered.
Now, we want to hear from you. What are your thoughts on today’s announcement?

After a few weeks off, Prime Cuts TV is back in full swing! Today we wanted to talk about something so simple yet for many, so complicated…mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes are used in a lot of dishes and for a lot of holidays so it’s important to understand how to make proper mashed potatoes. I think we would all agree that we’ve had some pretty bad mashed potatoes in the past. Well, today Joseph explains how to make them properly so you can wow your guests next time!
Over the next few weeks (actually, over the next few months) Justin will be doing a lot of traveling. For the next 3 weeks he will be traveling to Austin, TX for South by Southwest (SXSW) and then down to the British Virgin Islands. While away Justin will be taking videos and photos of some of the great food he is getting to try and we will post some recipes that we come up with from it all.
Here’s a quick video that Justin shot right before catching a couple hours of sleep prior to heading to the airport:
We’re finally back with a new episode of Prime Cuts TV! This week we decided to walk through the process of making flan. It’s something that’s really easy to make but also really easy to screw up if not done properly. We will follow up in a future post with the recipe for anyone that wants to try it at home.
Earlier today we decided to ping Justin’s network to see what we should do for a new episode of Prime Cuts TV. Chris Brogan responded and said he wanted to see a new twist on something old. We racked our brains for a little while, came up with a ton of ideas for new posts and then finally came up with the idea to do an Argentine twist on beef negimaki. Beef negimaki is a traditional Japanese dish consisting of beef marinated in a soy/teriyaki sauce and rolled with scallions.
This happens to be our longest episode so far of Prime Cuts TV so we hope you enjoy.
